Forest Heights community is situated in Southeast Edmonton, between the North Saskatchewan River and 98 Avenue, in Zone 19. The first development occured in 1940s with the majority of the residential homes built in the 1950s and thereafter. The most common type of property found in Forest Heights are single detached dwellings which are mainly owner occupied and the remainder are apartment style condos and duplexes. In this neighbourhood you are at an advantage, Forest Heights backs onto the North Saskatewan River and in between Forest Heights Park which offers multi-use trails (Fairy Ring Trail) and beautiful natural viewpoints which are located west off 84 Street. There you’ll also find Alberta Catholic Regional Tribunal Office, Catholic Archdiocese of Edmonton, Newman Theological College, Saint Joseph Seminary Catholic Church, Sisters of Our Lady of Charity Convent, Children's Day Out Play School and Ecole Michaelle-Jean French language school. The neighbourhood's parks also include; Forsland Park, Capilano Ravine and Mary Finlay Park where Forest Heights Community Centre & League resides. Forest Heights Public Elementary School is located on 81 street, and just north of 101 avenue is a bakery, dental clinic, daycare centre, as well as Central Edmonton Alliance Church, Centre For Spiritual Living Edmonton Church, Ukrainian Youth Assn Plast, and Edmonton Jewish Cemetery. Along the north end of Forest Heights on 106 avenue are some amenities; a gas station, pub, salon, convenience store, retail shops, and fast food restaurants. This location offers a quick commute to some of Edmonton's main attractions like: The Muttart Conservatory, Common Wealth Stadium, Highlands Golf Club, Edmonton and Capilano Mall.
